Terminal City Brewing is Vancouver’s premier Brew-On Premise(s) establishment.

We first opened our doors as West Coast U Brew on May 10, 1993, and have since provided the best products and services available in the on-premise brewing market, from our unique in-house beer recipes to some of Canada’s premium wines.

At Terminal City Brewing, our mission is to empower beer, cider and wine enthusiasts to unleash their creativity and craft exceptional brews through our U-Brew services.

We strive to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals can explore the art of brewing, experiment with flavors, and create unique beverages that bring joy and satisfaction. With our state-of-the-art facilities, expert guidance, and quality ingredients, we aim to elevate the U-Brew experience, enabling our customers to craft brews that are truly their own.

The Terminal City Brewing Crew

Bryn Hughes, a long-time customer, purchased Terminal City Brewing from the previous owner in 2019.

Trevor, Josh, Ben, and Vincent make up the team. Josh and Vincent, our Head and Assistant Brewers, create the amazing all-grain beers that we’ve become known for. Trevor, our longest-term employee, keeps everything operating smoothly. Ben leads the wine side of our business, making sure every batch comes out consistently perfect.

Collectively, the team brings together more than 50 years of experience. We believe, by far, that our brews can compete with any beer on the market and beat them. We make beers from easy slurping baseball beer to heavy dark stouts. We specialize in quality beer that we know you’ll love.

Our Setup

Our 5bbl Brewhouse allows us to make your wort completely from scratch – no kits, no syrups, no additives.

Our impressive 300,000 BTU steam boiler efficiently powers our mash tun and 5bbl brew kettle, preventing burning and overcooking with indirect heating. We have dedicated temperature-controlled rooms optimized for fermentation and conditioning, maintaining the ideal environment for your brews. Additionally, we offer 2 free bottle sanitizers and a spacious stainless beer bottling table with 4 stations, making the bottling process smooth and efficient.

For winemakers, we offer a dedicated fermentation room meticulously kept at a steady temperature to ensure happy yeast and optimal fermentation. With our professional filtration and measuring equipment, your wine is expertly cared for at every stage, from fermentation to bottling. Our pneumatic wine pumps and corking machines make the bottling process a breeze, ensuring convenience and precision.

With nearly 5000 sq ft of space, we provide ample free parking at the back and a convenient loading bay at the front, facilitating easy (un)loading of all your bottles.

Strictly All-Grain BEER!

We love our all-grain full mash brews.

Unlike many other U-Brew facilities, we use no extracts in our products. No kits, no syrups, just freshly milled malted barley from Canada, Germany and the UK. Our unique brewing system allows us to customize each batch with specialty grain and hops chosen specifically for each beer being made. We can adjust wort to match your taste and can easily add your own specialty ingredients – like it says on our window, it’s As Craft As It Gets!

We use only the finest wine kits available.

Since we can’t harvest and blend our own grapes, we rely on our specialist partners to create the starting point for our wines. We carry wines from these providers:

Our WineXpert Classic, Reserve and Private Reserve series are crafted by Peller Estates, a cross-Canada wine making company with over 50 years of experience and a solid place in liquor stores everywhere.

These apples, meticulously pressed at a small family business in Chilliwack, BC, form the foundation of our authentic and flavorful craft cider.

What sets our cider apart is its pure simplicity. We believe in letting the natural flavors shine through, which is why our cider contains no sweeteners or additives. It finishes dry, allowing the inherent qualities of the apples to take center stage, offering a crisp and refreshing taste experience.

We take pride in making our cider completely from scratch, supporting the local economy by partnering with Triple Jim’s Juice, a trusted supplier of high-quality juice made from BC apples. We emphasize a hands-on approach, eschewing kits or syrups, to ensure that every batch of our craft cider reflects our unwavering commitment to authenticity and taste.
